Ricardo
Bak Gordon was born in Lisbon in 1967, and studied
in Faculdade de
Arquitectura da Universidade do Porto, in Faculdade
de Arquitectura da Universidade Técnica de Lisboa and
in the Milan Polytechnic Institute. He graduated
in 1990. During that year he created the Vilela & Gordon
atelier, together
with Carlos Vilela Lúcio.
In
the year 2000 he created the atelier Bak Gordon Arquitectos,
where he currently works. Among the
works and competitions he participated in are, the first
prize of the international competition for the Residence
of the Portuguese
Embassy
in Brasilia, Brasil, the first prize of the international
competition for the 1st
Lisbon Architecture Triennale
, the first
prize of the competition for
Portuguese Pavilion in ExpoZaragoza 2008, the requalification projects for the schools and most recently as the contact office for the Brazilian architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha in the new Carriage Museum in Lisbon.
He has been
a project assistant in Universidade
Lusíada de Lisboa, Universidade
Moderna de Lisboa, most recently in IST and was a tutor of the degree
in architecture in Escola Superior Artística do
Porto and, participated in several international seminars
of architecture.
